Last 19th and 20th of March took place the sixth edition of the Technical User Community Meeting held in Barcelona. During these two days LDBC hosted more than 15 presentations from key members of the industry and research regarding graphs and RDF that we are going to share as independent blog posts during the following weeks.

The first presentation was about the Semantic Publishing Benchmark evolution by Venelin Kotsev from Ontotext.

The Semantic Publishing Benchmark (SPB) needed to evolve in order to allow for retrieval of semantically relevant content based on rich metadata descriptions and diverse reference knowledge and demonstrate that triplestores offer simplified and more efficient querying proving it to be a challenging technology in the RDF and Graph arena. The evolution consisted on addressing the issues on SPB v.1.0, adding more reference data and more connections between the entities, making cross references between the different pieces of content, making real use of RDF inference ability, creating more challenging queries and finally testing high availability.

Watch Venelin Kotsev presenting the details of this evolution of the SPB:

You can also read more information about the SPB on this website or read our former blog posts here.

Stay tuned for the rest of presentations!
