During the second day of the 6th LDBC TUC meeting held in Barcelona we welcomed John Snelson from MarkLogic with his presentation “MarkLogic Overview and Use Cases”.

MarkLogic is an enterprise NoSQL document-oriented database platform for storing and managing XML, JSON, RDF, and Geospatial data. During the presentation, John Snelson explains the main idea between this product and introduces 4 use cases including semantic search, search term expansion, semantics-driven search and intelligent recommendation.

MarkLogic is now planning on running the LDBC Social Publishing Benchmark (SPB) given that it aligns with one of their core use cases. John Snelson also proposes the development of new benchmarks for recommendation engines, facet generation, data integration and financial regulation.

Read more about the Social Publishing Benchmark in other blog entries or visiting the SPB website section.
